The Police and Crime Commissioner's Youth Commission Members have launched a Police and Crime Survey and want to hear from young people aged 11-25 about crime and policing in their area. The information provided by young people will help to shape the delivery of the Police and Crime Plan and feedback will help to improve policies and services. 2,000 free trees to giveaway

2,000 free trees to giveaway

A scheme to give away 2,000 free trees to residents in Charnwood has been launched.

The borough council has teamed up with the National Forest and contractor idverde to run the free tree scheme and people have until November 16 to apply.

All they need to do is email the Council and each resident can request up to two trees.

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEER SNOW WARDENS

Leicestershire County Council are looking for residents who are able to give up some of their time to clear snow when the winter weather hits us.

Volunteers will receive training and advice on how to clear snow and ice safely.

They would also be provided with protective clothing, a shovel and wheelbarrow.

EMERGENCY PRESS RELEASE

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at the above location.

An emergency closure is required on Footpath I51 from 25th October 2018 for up to 21 days.

The footpath will be closed at the weir bridge just south of Sileby Mill and Marina.

The footpath will be closed due to a broken hand rail across the bridge.
